I've been playing around with Womble MPEG Video Wizard - It's not bad, and seems to be what Windows Movie Maker could have been (more video formats, ALC support, DVD titling etc.) The problems with it is that it's not mulitrack but like WMM it can handle audio on the video clip and on the audio track and you can edit them both.
